Wall mounted data cabinet – Choise Features
A wall data cabinet is intended for housing telecom, server, and electrical equipment according to the 19-inch standard.
But keep in mind that if you have a large amount of bulky and heavy equipment, opt for floor-standing models.
Frequently, the challenge of limited space becomes pressing. Take, for instance, a compact server room where the floor area is fully utilized, yet there's a need to add more equipment. Here, the ideal resolution lies in a wall mounted data cabinet. This option lets you mount it on walls at different heights, making better use of space.
Let's look at the design and selection features wall mounted data cabinet:
- Overall dimensions. This parameter depends on two factors: the first is the available space for placing the structure and the second is the size of the equipment that needs to be placed in the cabinet. Having decided on these two indicators, you can find the optimal option for solving a specific problem. Standard indicators for wall mounted data cabinets are as follows: height – 6U, 9U, 12U, 15U, 18U, 22U; width – 600 mm; depth – 450 or 600 mm.
- Door type. There may be 2 door options: perforation or tempered glass. The difference between a door with perforation is that it allows for improved ventilation inside the structure.
- Maximum load. This parameter directly depends on the quantity and weight of the equipment available. If the equipment is not heavy, you can take models with a small load rating, since you should not overpay. By the way, IPCOM wall data cabinets can withstand up to 120 kg.
- Degree of protection. This indicator is expressed by the IP indicator (class of protection against moisture and dust). Here it is worth considering the conditions under which the server equipment will be operated: how exposed the room is to humidity, dampness, dust, etc. Typically, server rooms have standard living conditions without increased “risk”, so a model with an IP20 degree of protection is quite suitable.
IPCOM is ready to offer you a number of standard wall mounted data cabinet positions or produce a custom-made design.
