Understanding IP Ratings: Interpreting Your IP Rated Data Cabinet
The IP rating (or International/Ingress Protection Rating) indicates the degree of protection against penetration or in other words the degree of resistance against moisture and solid foreign particles.
The IP rating is prefabricated and consists of two parts (two digits). The first is protection against dust and foreign particles, the second is protection against liquid, that is, moisture.
This parameter is widely used in determining the degree of protection of such products: ip rated data cabinet, vandal-proof cabinet, climatic cabinet (all-weather cabinet).
For example, IP 54: "5" is protection against dust (protection against coarse dust), "4" is protection against moisture (protection against drops falling from all sides). This degree of protection is present in the SHKK series climate cabinets.
The following is a complete summary table showing the IP degree of protection values.
We manufacture IP rated data cabinets for both indoor and outdoor use.
